can anyone give me a semi-detailed explanation of how to build your own fire chains. I want to build my own, and found Dube.com where I can buy individual parts...including the kevlar, but I wouldnt really know the best way to build ones that are safe to use. Especially since I am new to this. But Im pretty good at building my own things. Any advice would be helpful . thanks.

I got my chains at Petco. :P

Haha it's all a matter of what you want. I love Dube and all, and everyone there is really nice when I go in, but when it comes to Poi they really can't be trusted. Their chains are HUGE, and it really affects how you spin. I got my first fire poi from Dube, and I discovered that their chains are so heavy that when doing a stall, the poi head is stalled - but the chain keeps going.

But I still bought their kevlar wicking and made my own poi. Really, just go around and find chains that are guaranteed strong and won't break. Hope this helped. :P

the fine choke chain here: http://www.arcatapet.com/category.cfm?catnum=52 is a little better and very cheap, though you have few length options and I'd cut off the rings at the end.

You might even be able to use the extra fine chain. I didn't tell you that if it breaks and if it doesn't, tell me that. :)
