How To Make "Stage" Poi

A stage ball is usually rubber or plastic, and, since it is hollow, can have a larger diameter than a beanbag and keep the weight low.

I've just made a pair and have to say that I really like them. I used colecord (just because I had some lying around around), and some Mr Babache 80mm stage balls. I made them exactly the same way shown in this video and it really is that simple. I used to use sock poi before these so they took a little bit of getting used to, however after a few hours I really started to feel comfortable and can defiantly recommend them to anyone.

Both some my poi and my practice staff are made with these stage balls. I prefer 70 mm as it is closer to the actual diameter of regular poi and I like a narrower profile when doing double-staff.

We actually have Stage Ball Poi now, and they are pretty popular.
