$500 I'm getting them.

I don't know why I posted in that other forum.

...my heart.
It's breaking.
500$? I'll eventually dish it out, 'cause I've been waiting for years for these... but still. Damn.

Truly awesome. I wasn't sure of these things' potential when I first saw them... Just looked like any old super bright LED poi, but this vid made me drool!

sweet! 500$ not sweet! that's too much to spend on poi, they look cool but not as cool as fire snakes which are much less than 500$, shit for that you could get flowlights, tubes, colecord, chains, handles, fire poi, fire snakes, a bag of weed, some more flowlights to make handles, and still have money left over to replace any of the above mentioned items being broken, after all this waiting and teasing they are gonna charge more than a damn ps3?!? It's just lights in a sock, shit, and not 500$ worth of em...

I respectfully disagree. These are insanely bright and they're based on movement. They also have tons of settings. I dig.

to be honest with myself i totally agree with demothenes.

they are way way over priced for a light in a sock, i believe poi should be affordable & fun......im not saying these poi wont be fun, i just really dont want to be spinning $500 worth of equipment around my head and accidentally smashing them into each other. dropping them..etc..etc....

maybe i will wait to the january sale........

that's the main thing, they are no doubt bright, trippy and more complex than normal lights, but I don't want to run the risk of breaking a 500$ set of poi. Plus when people are like 'hey can i try your poi,' at a show or something, I want to let them, but with this I would be like heeeeelll no, too risky.

Yeah I immediately inquired about these issues. He said there would be a warranty system and that the socks will have ample padding in the area where the unit is located to lessen blows.

these are some pretty crazy looking led poi, cheaper than 500$ anyways

They're like snakes, so it'd half my moves, no accelerometer and they're about 300$ Doesn't seem like a good choice.

I think when these are actually in mass production that price should drop dramaticly. I only think they have a VERY limited number right now. Just my guess though.

That is the way with all things made but how long will it take to get to that point.. How many people have to buy $500 worth of poi to get them to consider mass production. I would be ok paying $200 for them. I paid for $150 pair of Flowpoi Trio so another $50 for the accelerometer would be alright I guess.

Personally, I would not buy these poi at 500, 200 or even 100 dollars. Oggpoi do the trick for me, and for the low, low price of 65 bucks plus shipping. I imagine those "hyperlights" perform much like sock poi, which can be very limiting (try doing spiral wraps or hyperloops, for instance). I much prefer having my poi attached to leashes with handles and swivels, so they perform more like the real thing. The only major plus for the hyperlights is the accelerometer, which as the technology develops, can theoretically be applied to any type of flowtoy. So, if I could get Oggz for 100-150 bucks with an accelerometer and possibly brighter LEDs, then we would have something to talk about.
