i understand you tony dyami kaplan prob just misread your post.
my favourite moment was when i first started, i had been trying to master corkscrew for weeks and just couldnt do it, then it just finally fell into place, it was a make or break for me as i had told myself that if i could do that i could do anything but if i couldnt do itthen i would give up - glad i got it now!!!!!

Ha, I get it! I totally did misread the title. That is a good question... I can't think of one single absolute most favorite moment with poi. My most memorable moment in my poi life is still that first time i saw it.

It was on Seabright beach in Santa Cruz in the early summer of 2006. The sun had set and the sky was beginning to drift into twilight. SriKanta (known back then as Keith Barfoot) was doing a photo shoot with Marina Salonga. I remember her belly dancing as he spun the lit poi around her thinking that her hair looked especially bushy that day.

There is a feeling of ecstatic bliss which is unique to poi that I get in certain moments. I remember feeling it during Srikanta's workshops. I feel it when I have especially good burns. I get the feeling from doing some simple moves like airwraps which can feel really good. I get it from that "Ah Ha! something just clicked!" moment. I get it when I am doing partner poi.

thanks for taking me back through the memories. :)

I'd have to say probably when I realised that I could do it! I'd seen people spinning before, but always thought you'd have to have a particular talent for co-ordination. The first day I picked them up and learnt the 3 beat weave was definitely the best. I get a similar kick the first time I nail a move which has been causing me problems.
