Gaffers FTW.

I don't think the idea is to get everyone to agree on an idea for poi. I like the idea though. A wiki sight for beginners would be great. It would help those of us who do not have ppl to play with. Rather than suffering the internet for hours to fin…

rubber tape? you've got my attention. What kind of online store do you use? This is the only one I've found with interesting tapes: http://www.identi-tape.com/

i started with friction tape, but it doesn't last and adds too much weight to the hoop. i use gaffers tape now a lot, but have recently found RUBBER TAPE. omg so awesome...try it.

What if it was set up as different pages with links, so it wasn;t just one long document. You could just click on say 'isolation' and then it would take you to a page dedicated only to isolations, videos, discussion theory etc...? I think that would…

I have the wooden balls, they are great for throws. I don't think they effect stalls though.

I use either single-loops with the chain wrapped up once so I am in pinch grip (the handle is only for security), or weighted handles using a pinch grip.

I use home of poi double loop leather. most chain real estate because they have quick-links included and they are comfortable. I can't stand single loops feel and they are terrible for throws. I can see the ball handles being good, but I've not been…

I like using ball handles. Feels more like spinning the socks I learned to spin with, and good for tosses. I just dont like the eyebolt sticking out of it. It gets uncomfortable

I do not want to go to burning man

I do not want to go to burning man, this year or possibly ever again. If you have not been, I encourage you to go. If you have been but want to go back and recharge, that is also good. It is a unique experience which will enrich your life and show you tools that can make the world a better place.

I had a dream the other night that we were walking home one morning and as we passed by the metro station I looked over to see the whole place filled with dozens of people all playing poi.
that is Home… Continue

I would like to comment on your post on “where are all the staff spinners”
“I want to make a request that we all do our best to refrain from using uncommon non descriptive names for moves. If you do use a name, and the name it self does describe the move, please include a description.”
This site is a really friendly community, with a lot of beginners and personally think that “request” will scare beginners off! I left HOP because of comments like this, when I first started poi.
I think it would have been better if you had said “please describe the move?” or something along those lines. I am on this site to meet like minded people and share what knowledge I have and learn from others, not to be made to feel stupid because I don not the name of a move.
Sorry
