I defiently agree with everything Jonah said. It's always ideal and best to learn in person from an experienced performer. I've seen alota eaters (and know a couple abroad) and it's always intrigued me so I've begun studying fire eating. I actually…
What you are describing sounds like a candle. Basically all vapor tricks involve candle technique. They are especially cool as a transfer, since you can take two torches, light one and extinguish it while making a candle, then use the candle to ligh…
I have had people offer to teach me fire breathing and I always turn it down. It just dosne't seem worth it. a poof of fire and that's it. 2 seconds of "oohh" for the potential risks associated with it... just doesn't seem worth it to me. I can only…
Fire eating is extremely fun. I learned from the last person to post a reply. I also fire breath, but in all honesty, I would strongly recommend against it. I always try and steer people away from it. It is really dangerous and their are a lot of ri…

I am Jai or often known as Salyc. I am a fire eater and flesher. My beautiful daughter is a poi spinner and has been since she was 5, burning at age 9 for the 1st time.
Because of her I started American Fire Artists, which is a liability insurance…
How did you first get into fire / glow arts, and how long have you been involved?
My daughter has been involved for 7 years since Age 5.
Tell us about your life outside of fire / glow arts...
I started an insurance company for performers to help my daughter. There was only one company in the US handling liability for fire performers, so I found an underwriter and started American Fire Artists.
Other than that I am a mother, an accountant, a knitter/crocheter, and have a new found interest in growing organics.
