I'm just starting to find out what I love to spin to, right now it's Beats Antique, Massive Attack, NIN's Ghosts i-iv and Tsutchie. Just throw the old mp3 player on random :)
well theres a problem, laser diodes are pretty sensitive, and laser pens are really bulky. plus lasers arent that bright, u would need blue lasers because they are awesome. also if you really wanted a nice effect, use mirror tape for the whole thing…
Trick Concepts has tons of choices for weight, grip, colors, wick size/configuration, and length. They also do coupons and other deals pretty much every week!
I have used many staffs before.
My absolute favorite is my own staff, which came from Fire Mecca.
I HIGHLY recommend them.
Apart from making amazing equipment, they're also super nice.
the only time i spin while drinking is if i'm in that perfect state between tipsy and drunk. If i feel my motor controls are just a hair to the right of that i dont do it. Mostly because the only fire toy i have right now is the sticks and a flaming…
Yeah no problem. When I watched the videos, I spent close to 6 hours just playing with them. My friend was over and was helping give advice when she noticed something that I hadn't. So between her and the videos, I got reasonably good with the moves.
How did you first get into fire / glow arts, and how long have you been involved?
My friend found a group in Boston called the grasshopper collective and she started learning poi and eventually fire hoop. There is like 30 of them. Come to find out I stumbled upon about 200 fire performers in the Boston area. They used to do performances on my roof all the time. Assuming I couldn't do it just sat and watched. I don't know what changed, but I just remember practicing. One day I got the three beat weave while hanging out in the middle of nowhere NY and I've been hooked since.
Tell us about your life outside of fire / glow arts...
I'm really into music and art. I'm supposed to be an engineer, but I'm not really. I do programming though... I'm into finding truths and exploring reality. You know what I'm sayin'.
Ohh. Ok. I'll admit that the fluffy poi don't have a lot of weight to them, and sometimes keeping them from flopping on their cord is a problem... Thanks so much! I guess I'll see tomorrow if I have any appropriate socks..
I have fluffy poi from Home Of Poi, and they're not exactly heavy or hard, it's just that I keep hitting the same spots over and over again trying to get the weave going.
